JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Jonesborough man was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault after he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman’s head on Saturday.
A news release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) said Jackie Griffin, 54, was located and taken into custody at a residence in the 100 block of Cloyd Road following the alleged attack.
“According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, the victim advised deputies that Griffin pointed a gun at her head, forced his hand into her mouth and grabbed her jaw, punched her multiple times and tackled her when she tried to escape,” the release states.
According to the WCSO, the victim eventually escaped and reportedly drove herself to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The release said Griffin was being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond and will appear in court on July 10.
