On Wednesday (July 02), the jury reached a final verdict on Sean “P Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial, and although the jury had initially reached a verdict of four of five charges and remained deadlocked on one, the music mogul has now been found guilty of transportation for prostitution.
The final verdict caused a major stir on social media, with many celebrities weighing in on the highly publicised court case, which saw the 55-year-old found not guilty on count one of a racketeering charge and of sex trafficking his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, 38. Among the reactions was Cassie, who issued an emotional statement via her legal representatives after the verdict was announced. She stated: “This entire criminal process started when our client, Cassie Ventura, had the courage to file her civil complaint in November 2023.

“Although the jury did not find Combs guilty of sex trafficking, Cassie beyond a reasonable doubt, she paved the way for a jury to find him guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution. By coming forward with her experience, Cassie has left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice.”
This came shortly after Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine, praised her resilience as she took to the stand and recounted her terrifying experience while heavily pregnant.
He penned: “Over the past five days, the world has gotten to witness the strength and bravery of my wife freeing herself of her past. I have felt so many things sitting there. I have felt tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass. I have felt profound anger that she has been subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break her.”
The singer’s witness testimony was a major addition to the case as she alleged that she was physically assaulted and harmed by Diddy.
Cassie also claimed that she was coerced into arranging and participating in sexual encounters for the entertainment mogul’s pleasure, which often involved her engaging with escorts in his presence, frequently using copious amounts of baby oil and lube
50 Cent
US rapper 50 Cent also broke his silence after it was revealed that his longtime rival was found not guilty of the racketeering charge and took to Instagram to praise the surprising acquittal.
The In Da Club star shared an AI photo of himself laughing, captioned: “Diddy beat the Feds that boy a bad man!” After adding hands clapping emojis, he added: “Beat the Rico, he the Gay John Gotti.” (sic)
This is an unexpected reaction from the rapper turned actor who has been vocal about his hatred for Combs and frequently targeted him on social media throughout the years, as part of their decades-long fued which became public in 2006
It’s likely 50 Cent was surprised by the verdict because the racketeering conspiracy charge accused the father-of-seven of violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organisations Act, also known as RICO, which was created in 1970 and aimed at targeting organised crime groups such as the Mafia.
Prosecutors alleged that Combs was able to hide behind the billion-dollar business empire, which enabled him to illegally coerce women into sex and conceal his conduct to protect his reputation.

After Diddy’s verdict was announced following testimony from 34 witnesses over nearly two months, including ex-girlfriends, former employees of Combs, male escorts and federal agents, broadcaster Piers Morgan issued a blunt one-word response.
Once the jurors had spent two days deliberating, the 60-year-old reacted to the news by retweeting a breaking announcement which read: “BREAKING A federal jury has convicted Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs on two counts of transportation for prostitution.”
The post, which went out to his 8.9 million followers, Piers simply added: “Wow…”
Piers later followed up this reaction with his expectation of the rapper’s sentence. He predicted: “Diddy’s going down. Just a question now of how many convictions he gets, and how long a sentence…”

During her self-titled show, American journalist and attorney did not hold back as she stated: “Sean Combs just got away with serious felonies, in my view.
“He’s guilty as sin in my view, and this jury just gave him a total pass they bought Marc Agnifilo’s argument it appears, the same one that did not work for Agnifilo in the Nxivm sex cult case out of Albany, New York which he went in there and said ‘These women, we don’t do sex cults.
‘Women are powerful, women make their own decisions, these women chose to have themselves branded no one made them’ with this guy’s initials.'”
Meghan continued: “And he tried the same thing here but with a much, much better result.”
