JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — Two men were arrested after assaults involving a hammer and a gun, according to the Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the 400 block of Woodlyn Road after 9 p.m. Monday after someone told dispatch that a person had been struck with a hammer. Witnesses told deputies that Terry Allen Brewster, 49, of Johnson City, arrived at the home and got into an altercation with the victim in the driveway.
The sheriff’s office said security camera video showed Brewster assaulting the victim with a hammer. Brewster then reportedly returned to his vehicle and left.
Shortly thereafter, Brewster called 911 and said he was in the 3000 block of Watauga Road. Deputies found Brewster, who reportedly told them that after he left the scene, David A. Bardo, 23, of Johnson City, approached his truck and fired a gun several times at him. Deputies observed bullet holes in Brewster’s truck, according to the sheriff’s office.
Brewer and Bardo were both arrested and charged with aggravated assault. They were taken to the Washington County Detention Center with bonds set at $50,000 each.
