Controversial Nigerian singer, Naira Marley, is once again in the headlines, this time for allegedly filing a legal petition against popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo.

According to reports circulating online, notably from gossip blogger Cutie Juls, the petition led to Iyabo Ojo being summoned by police authorities in Abuja.

Why Naira Marley is Coming for Iyabo Ojo

The petition, reportedly submitted by Naira Marley’s legal team, accuses Iyabo Ojo of allegedly exonerating the singer from wrongdoing through false representations.

The legal team claimed that fake social media accounts, supposedly linked to Marley’s camp, had been used to push narratives that Iyabo Ojo had apologized to the singer. These messages were allegedly sent to various blogs, portraying a false reconciliation.

While official police confirmation is yet to surface, the gossip blog alleges that the singer’s team is pursuing legal redress for what they describe as defamatory and misleading claims tied to Iyabo Ojo’s stance during the Mohbad death saga.

This development comes in the wake of continued fallout surrounding the mysterious death of singer Mohbad in 2023, a case that drew national outrage and saw Naira Marley accused by the public of alleged harassment of the late singer.

Iyabo Ojo was among the celebrity voices that fiercely advocated for justice in the aftermath, consistently calling out Marley and his associates on social media.

Meanwhile, a new report also claims that Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has taken legal action against Naira Marley, accusing him of backing out of a prior promise related to the singer’s estate or legal matters.
