Woman 'unconscious' after brawl broke out at UK rapper's Perth concert

A brawl has broken out at a Central Cee concert in Perth leaving two concertgoers  injured and a teenage boy in custody. 

The fight occurred at RAC Arena on Wednesday night, where the 27-year-old British  rapper took the stage as part of the Australian leg of his Can’t Rush Greatness tour. 

Central Cee – real name Oakley Neil Caesar-Su – began his performance at around 9pm and by 9.40pm, three patrons were engaged in a fracas. 

A 17-year-old, who was located in the seated section, reportedly attacked a 25-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman during the show, with the fight, which was captured in a TikTok video, lasting over two minutes. 

A witness at the concert said that he saw the female victim ‘fall unconscious’ during the brawl.

‘They were right next to me, and I had to move out of the way, but the girl was knocked out, fully unconscious,’ Campbell Darby, 20, who also attended the gig, told the Channel Seven. 

Perth Police have now charged a boy from the West Australian suburb of Gosnells with one count of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of common assault, Seven News reports. 

He was additionally charged with one count of disorderly behaviour in a public place and one count of obstructing public officers. 

‘It will be alleged; a 17-year-old male assaulted a 25-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman,’ a WA police spokesperson said.

‘Both victims sustained bruising to the head and face.

‘It will be further alleged; the juvenile resisted arrest and was verbally abusive towards officers.’

The 17-year-old boy is expected to face Perth Children’s Court on July 29. 

Paramedics were not called to the scene, St John WA spokeswoman confirmed to Seven News.

An RAC Arena spokesperson says they are aware of the situation and ‘assisting WAPOL with their investigation’.

Cee performed at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on June 28 before wrapping up in Perth at RAC Arena on July 2. 

Last week, the Day in the Life performer was spotted working out at an outdoor gym in North Bondi. 

He was was flanked by an eight-person entourage at the iconic location. 

The BAND4BAND hitmaker caused chaos and confusion in the Harbour City during his last visit in January. 

His surprise visit to Sydney’s Oxford Street saw thousands of fans swarm the area.

He visited the suburb of Paddington to promote his streetwear clothing label Syna World.

However, pandemonium filled the streets as a throng of fans lined up from 4am around the block hoping to see him in the flesh.

In the afternoon, they were finally rewarded when Cee arrived in his limo and was escorted into a store by his security team.

He rose to fame in 2021 with his hit single Obsessed With You.

A year later, in 2023, he scored his first number one in Australia with his song Sprinter.

His unique hip hop style has seen him work with a host of other popular artists, including Australian rapper The Kid Laroi and South Korean star Jungkook.
