Dancing With the Stars pros Emma Slater and Alan Bersten’s chemistry has heated up the ballroom floor —and beyond.

Slater and Bersten joined the ABC reality dancing competition series in 2012 and 2017, respectively, before pursuing their romantic relationship. Amid season 33 of the series in 2024, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that Slater and Bersten were “hooking up.”

While the pair remained quiet about their relationship status, Slater and Bersten sealed the rumors with a kiss during an April 2025 live show. Days later, Bersten reflected on him and Slater sending fans into a frenzy with their onstage smooch. “Did it go viral?” Bersten exclusively asked Us of the moment. “We’re just enjoying life.”

Before her romance with Bersten, Slater was married to fellow DWTS pro Sasha Farber from 2018 to 2023. Bersten, for his part, had a brief showmance with season 27 partner Alexis Ren.

October 2024

While revealing that Slater and Bersten were “hooking up,” an insider told Us that their romance is “not new, it’s ongoing.”

April 2025

Slater and Bersten sent fans into a spiral when they locked lips during a live DWTS show, to which he later confessed he was “a little bit” surprised it gained so much traction online. “It was an incredible tour and I’m sad that it came to an end,” he told Us days after the kiss. “But also there are so many good moments.”

May 2025

Slater traveled to New York City to cheer on Bersten as he completed the 2025 RBC Brooklyn Half marathon. “We did it!!!! My first half marathon! That was so hard! My official time was 1:38:43!” Bersten wrote via Instagram, alongside post-race snaps with Slater. “Shout out to all these incredible runners. So proud of you @dannydlawn and I’m so happy @theemmaslater was here to support me.” Slater later shared snaps of her holding Bersten via Instagram and gushed that she was “proud” of him.

After their vacation to the Big Apple, Slater and Bersten enjoyed a getaway to Hawaii. While showing fans a glimpse of their travels via Instagram, Bersten shared a snap of the twosome kayaking and one of Slater embracing Bersten from behind as they swam beside a waterfall. “Our first few days in Kauai! Truly unbelievable 🙏🏼,” Bersten wrote. “This is what happiness looks like to me.”

June 2025

Bersten and Slater collaborated for several playful videos, including one of them bobbing their head in the kitchen. “‘You guys are professional dancers, you should film videos together.’ The videos we film 😂😂,” they captioned a joint Instagram post.

July 2025

The couple packed on the PDA in a series of sweet selfies, with Bersten planting kisses on Slater’s cheek and neck. “Just a moment in time 💘,” she captioned the Instagram upload. Bersten gushed in the comments section, “I miss you already.”
