() Travis Decker, who has been on the run for over a month, was possibly sighted in the woods in Idaho, reports said.

The U.S. Marshals Service says it is investigating the matter. Authorities said Decker kidnapped and killed his three young daughters, Paityn, Evelyn and Olivia. Decker, since the incident, has been on the U.S. Marshals’ “Top 15 Most Wanted” list.

U.S. Marshals acknowledged that they received a tip on July 5 from a family that claimed to have seen a person in the Bear Creek area of the Sawtooth National Forest. The description of the individual was consistent with that of Decker.

The family also reported that the person didn’t want to make eye contact and didn’t respond when trying to strike up a conversation.

Another sighting of Decker in Idaho was also reported in McCall back in June.

Decker, who is notorious for hitchhiking, has officials urging the public not to pick up any hitchhikers in the area.

During the investigation, DNA was taken from personal items believed to belong to Decker, which were found at the crime scene and matched blood samples found on the tailgate of Decker’s truck.

Authorities previously said that Decker may have been deceased.

“We have not given up on the search efforts,” Chelan County Sheriff Michael Morris. “We recognize there is a potential that he could be deceased, so we’re also looking for that potential.

The U.S. Marshals Service Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force asks anyone who was in Sawtooth National Forest this past weekend to come forward with any tips.
