The saints and sinners are headed for the ballroom floor. That’s right, it has officially been confirmed that two cast members from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives are joining the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars.
For lovers of reality TV, this may not come as a huge surprise, as some of the cast members were previously spotted in the audience last season, fueling rumors that they themselves might become future competitors. So which two women are gearing up to appear on Season 34 of the show?
Jen Affleck And Whitney Leavitt Will Be DWTS Season 34 Cast Members
The announcement came during The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Season 2 Reunion Special, which was hosted by reality TV alum Nick Viall. It’s worth noting that Nick himself is also a former participant of DWTS—he appeared in Season 24 alongside partner Peta Murgatroyd.
Nick was the one who broke the news, telling the audience that the DWTS producers loved both of them so much that they couldn’t pick just one of them:
Because you women are so adored, they are gonna be sending two of you to Dancing With the Stars.
After Nick revealed the update, Jen and Whitney were the two cast members who jumped up from their seats, letting the audience know they were the ones who would be joining the dance competition. “We’re moving to LA!” Jen joked, perhaps referencing how she and her husband Zac were supposed to move to New York at the end of Season 1, a change which never ended up panning out.
Jen And Whitney Are Prepared To Go Head-To-Head
Throughout the reality TV show, Jen and Whitney have each been portrayed as the series’ villain at different points in time. Whitney was largely seen as the enemy throughout Season 1, often threatening to leave the MomTok group if conflicts persisted within their friendships. Jen, meanwhile, was the source of tension throughout much of Season 2, and her future on the show remains a bit of a cliffhanger after she dropped out in the middle of filming.
It seems, however, that the two women are able to take this update lightly. Jen joked that she was ready to compete with Whitney in an entirely new light in the dance competition. After Nick’s announcement, she turned to Whitney and teased her:
I hope you know you’re going down! Just kidding. Bring it on.
Fans of the show will know that Jen was carrying her third child throughout Season 2’s filming and only recently gave birth, meaning she won’t be pregnant during the competition.
So far, only a handful of other cast members have been confirmed for the Season 34 lineup. Outside of the two Secret Lives of Mormon Wives ladies, there are only two other participants who have been officially announced: wilderness expert Robert Irwin will try to follow in the footsteps of his older sister, Bindi, who was crowned the winner of her season, as well as influencer Alix Earle, who had already promised her fans that she will film exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of her journey for them.
