JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man has been arrested in connection to the shooting death of an 18-year-old woman in Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.

In a news release, JSO said Stephan Smith, 23, was arrested on a warrant in connection to 18-year-old Xzaria Randall’s murder.

On Saturday just before 1 a.m., JSO told First Coast News patrol officers responded to the 5800 block of Rover Road in reference to the shooting. JSO Sgt. Highfill said there was a party going on, and during it, a fight broke out, which ended in gunfire.

When officers arrived on scene, Randall was found with multiple gunshot wounds to her torso, according to JSO. Members of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department then responded to the scene and pronounced her dead, JSO’s release states.

Court records show Smith will make his first appearance in court on July 29 for his arraignment.
