A New York federal judge finalized a sentencing date on Tuesday for Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was convicted of two counts of prostitution last week.

The New York Times reported that the prosecution and defense agreed on Combs’ sentencing date of October 3. Combs was convicted on Wednesday of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, and prosecutors said guidelines recommend a prison sentence between  51 and 63 months — though they can seek more time.

Conversely, Combs’ lawyers are seeking a sentence between 21 and 27 months. They also wanted him immediately released from custody on $1 million bond.

Combs was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering, the two most serious counts. He was found guilty of violating the Mann Act for transporting male escorts to have sex with his two ex-girlfriends, including Cassie Ventura.  Lead prosecutor Maurene Comey said Combs continued to hire escorts while under investigation.

Judge Arun Subramanian denied Combs’ bond, citing the defense’s own words about Combs’ violent behavior towards his former girlfriends. He noted that Combs’ violence and illegal activity continued even after federal agents searched his home.

Subramanian concluded that Combs’ actions showed his “disregard for the rule of law and a propensity of violence.” Ventura’s lawyer also submitted a letter to the court, urging against Combs’ release.

“Ms. Ventura believes that Mr. Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community,” her lawyer wrote.

People reported that Combs’ lawyers and prosecutors had a phone conference on Tuesday without Combs or Subramanian. The defense’s sentencing memorandum is due on September 19, and the prosecution’s is due a week later.
