BEAUFORT, S.C. () — The Beaufort County School District (BCSD) named Beaufort Middle School’s new principal Tuesday.

Former BCSD administrator Jennifer Morillo will replace Elandee Thompson, PhD, who has accepted the role of principal at Battery Creek High School, a district spokesperson said.

Morillo has previously served in principal roles at Beaufort Elementary School and Robert Smalls International Academy, now known as Robert Smalls Leadership Academy.

She also served as assistant principal at Lady’s Island Middle School, a district spokesperson said.

“She’s experienced and understands the importance of creating a district and school culture of moving academic achievement and ensuring our students succeed,” Superintendent Frank Rodriguez said.
