He then opens the bag of shoes.

Police allege he then took 53 right-footed shoes only, not pairs, before putting them in a suitcase and popping it into his trolley before leaving the centre.

The store, called Shoe Fashion, released a statement on Instagram calling out the alleged thief the day after.

”At some point last night, someone treated themselves to a little “shopping spree” at our covered sale table and took off with 53 right-foot boots.

“Now, we only ever pop the right shoe out on display to stop things going walkabout, and keep things simple, but it seems someone didn’t get the memo.

“Where are the 53 right-foot boots are off to, we may never know.”

The store also asked the question on everyone’s mind.

“To the person who took off with a rather very unbalanced haul, were you aware you were grabbing solos?”

The post also said the company had caught the entire thing on CCTV footage.

Queensland Police have released the footage to try and identify the man.

Detectives have not said why the man took the shoes.
