SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Storms brought another busy afternoon and evening for a lot of the immediate coast. Heavy rainfall, very frequent lightning, and gusty winds occurred in the intense cells.
Sunday morning features another warm & humid start under lots of sunshine. The heat will be the main issue as temperatures will soar into the mid-90s, with heat index values into the mid-100s.
A Heat Advisory is in effect for Montgomery & Toombs County from 11 AM – 8 PM Sunday.
Remember to stay hydrated & protected from the heat and sun. Monday will also be another very hot day across the area!
There will be a chance for stray storms, with each storm bringing the possibility of frequent lightning, heavy rainfall capable of localized flooding, and strong wind gusts.
A developing area of low pressure has a 20% chance of developing into a tropical depression or named storm over the next seven days.
At the moment, guidance slowly drifts this system westward into the Gulf, but we will keep an eye on trends & give you the latest.
Rain chances will trend upward again for Tuesday through Friday, with more fine-tuning to exact timing of the highest rain chances expected in the coming days.
There are no imminent tropical threats for the Coastal Empire & Lowcountry.
