WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Jonesborough man faces various charges after allegedly evading police on July 11.

According to a news release from the Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), Cassius Kaleb Tester, 21, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Reckless endangerment
  • Possession of a handgun while under the influence
  • Evading arrest
  • Financial responsibility
  • Reckless driving

Around 10 p.m., deputies reportedly attempted to stop Tester in the 1500 block of Gray Station Sulphur Springs Road.

Tester was allegedly traveling at a high speed, and deputies lost sight of him on Bayless Road.

“A witness waved deputies down and pointed to Tester’s vehicle, which struck a deck and two vehicles at a residence in the 400 block of Wilcox Circle,” the WCSO stated. Deputies took Tester into custody.

He was then arrested and reportedly admitted to having “a few drinks earlier and a pistol in the console of his vehicle.”
