Chatham County Health Department to offer free mammograms

CHATHAM COUNTY, GA. () — The Chatham County Health Department (CCHD) is offering free mammograms for qualifying women in Aug. 26.

The chances of survival from breast cancer increase with early treatment. According to the CCHD, breast cancer is the second most commonly cancer diagnose and the second-leading cause of cancer death in women.

The mammograms will be available only by phone appointment for women aged 40 or older without health insurance coverage.

They will be provided at the St. Joseph-Candler mobile mammography unit, which will be in the parking lot of the main health department clinic located at 1395 Eisenhower Drive from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
