Matthew Dawson Watson is charged with sexual conduct over a computer and offense against a student by an authority figure.
BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. — A former Bradford County teacher turned himself in Monday morning after police issued a warrant for his arrest, according to the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office.
The warrant was issued Friday as police sought Matthew Dawson Watson on charges of sexual conduct over a computer and an offense against a student by an authority figure.
The BCSO says the incident happened in Dec. 2024, when Watson was employed as a teacher at Bradford Middle School.
According to police, a student reported the incident to a school employee on Feb. 12, 2025. At that time, the district placed Watson on administrative leave.
Prior to his arrest, Watson resigned. He is currently being held at the Bradford County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
