Russell Nicolet

Many attorneys consider legal work a job and little more. They work their case, get paid, and go home. However, for someone like Midwest personal injury lawyer Russell Nicolet, every client he takes on is far more than simply another case. As a first-generation lawyer, he has worked tirelessly to make a name for himself, crusading endlessly for his clients.

Now, Russell shows no signs of stopping, bringing unprecedented empathy and diligence to the courtroom. Because he didn”t just grow a law firm by building his own office, he engineered a legal culture where empathy and precision coexist. Russell’s success lies in systematizing compassion, scaling personal commitment into institutional power.

Founder Without a Formula

Some may point to Russell’s lack of a legal family background as a weakness, but he sees it as a massive strength. Rather than inheriting decades-old, entrenched, and outdated ways of doing business, he has been able to define modern success on his terms. In this way, Russell’s self-taught methods and early challenges have proven foundational to his firm’s adaptive DNA.

Scaling With Purpose

Nicolet Law’s expansion across three states is a strategic outgrowth of values, not an act of ambition or greed. Initially, Russell started Nicolet Law as a one-person law office, with only himself working toward helping others.

Now, Nicolet Law has expanded to three states and employs dozens of staff members, all working collaboratively toward a singular goal. In doing so, Russell has sought to cultivate insight and knowledge from the best attorneys in the business. Before expanding his office, he traveled to Florida, Georgia, New York, and California. Russell learned and trained with some of the world’s best injury law attorneys in these vastly different legal territories. Through these methods, he has built a work system that supports quality advocacy at scale, empowering his staff to deliver individualized care in a volume-based field.

Continuous Professional Evolution

Russell considers his desire to continuously improve himself a “long-term investment in intellectual capital” that benefits his fellow attorneys and clients.

In setting up his law office, he encountered many challenges.

Still, as Russell says, “The big thing I did to overcome these obstacles was to work at getting more knowledgeable and improving continuously. Improving my skills, my knowledge, and finding some early mentors in the legal profession who were kind enough to give me a hand. I spent a lot of time as a young attorney doing research in the Washington County Law Library to make sure that I could effectively handle cases for clients, even though I was a brand-new attorney.”

To this day, Russell and his team work tirelessly to garner as much information and experience as possible for each case.

Mentorship as Infrastructure

As a young attorney, Russell learned much from seasoned attorneys willing to mentor and demonstrate their approaches. Now, he looks forward to paying that due diligence by developing talent within his firm. For him, mentorship is not some side effect of the firm’s business, but rather an embedded mechanism for quality control and growth.

The Business of Advocacy

Russell Nicolet combines strong client advocacy with sound business practices, challenging the idea that growth in law means compromising service. He has received numerous awards, including the National Trial Lawyers Association’s Top 40 Under 40 Trial Lawyers and Top 100 Trial Lawyers.

Russell has also been recognized as a SuperLawyer by SuperLawyers Magazine. However, he considers his most notable achievements “results for the great people I have had the honor to represent.”

Russell aspires to continue representing injured individuals in the Midwest and holding insurance companies accountable. He strives to continue growing Nicolet Law to help more people with his office’s unique brand of empathy, unyielding dedication, and expertise.
