ORLANDO, Fla. – If you’re making weekend plans across Central Florida, heat should be your top concern.

High pressure remains locked over the state, keeping rain chances low and temperatures dangerously high.

Weekend

Saturday and Sunday will feel very similar as conditions stay mostly sunny, hot, and humid with only a slight chance (30–40%) of a few afternoon showers or storms.

The big weather story of the weekend will be those temperatures! Afternoon highs will climb into the low 90s along the coast and mid 90s inland. When you factor in the humidity, it will feel more like 105 to 110 degrees.

A Heat Advisory is in effect Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. for Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Volusia, and Brevard counties. Similar advisories may be needed Sunday.

From the beach to parks or local farmers markets, keep heat top of mind. Stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and take breaks in the shade or A/C. With limited breeze and cloud cover, heat-related illnesses can happen quickly.

Early week

By Monday, the large high begins to shift and weaken, allowing more moisture to return. Rain and storm chances increase slightly, with a 40 to 60 percent chance of afternoon storms. If storms do develop, they may bring gusty winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Still, the heat lingers, so heat safety remains a priority.

Mid week

Looking ahead to the middle and end of next week, a weak front is expected to stall just north of the region. This will pull in deeper tropical moisture (some residual moisture from Invest 93L), raising daily rain chances to around 60 to 70 percent. Storms could become more frequent and locally strong, with lightning, heavy downpours, and gusty winds possible.

While the added rain will help lower daytime highs slightly, feels like temperatures are expected to stay in the triple digits for many areas.
