According to a press release issued by GBI early Saturday, Daquan Phillips, 26, was found with a gunshot wound after officials made entry into the home he had barricaded himself in.

The incident occurred after hours of unsuccessful communication with Phillips.

A 5-year-old child was found in the home, unharmed.

Multiple law enforcement agencies reported to the scene, including the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, the Hinesville Police Department, Savannah Police Department SWAT, the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office, and Georgia State Patrol.
