Given how talented The Pitt’s casting team clearly is, there has been a lot of interest in which new actors will appear during the second season. With that in mind, it is fascinating to look at the fact that Sepideh Moafi will be joining The Pitt Season 2 in a recurring role.

In June 2025, Deadline published an article that focused on Sepideh’s casting as a series regular.

Given that the team behind the show seem to hold their plans somewhat close to their chest, fans will have to wait to learn a lot about Sepideh’s The Pitt character.

However, Deadline’s article revealed that Sepideh will be portraying an attending physician in emergency medicine. For those who aren’t sure what that means, Sepideh’s character will have some authority over the student doctors during The Pitt Season 2.

An attending physician is a doctor who has completed their residency training and is now in charge of overall patient care.

What Other Roles Is Sepideh Moafi Known For?

During The Pitt Season 1, several of the show’s main stars had never starred in another TV show or movie before that. Unlike her future co-stars, however, Sepideh Moafi is an experienced actor who has previously landed some respected roles.

The most noteworthy role of Sepideh’s career before The Pitt has to be her role in Black Bird. A true crime drama miniseries from Apple TV+, Black Bird was a critical and commercial hit, to say the least.

In the show Black Bird, Sepideh portrayed and FBI agent who played a pivotal role in the investigation of the suspected real-life serial killer Larry Hall.

Before starring in Black Bird, Sepideh starred in other TV shows in memorable roles.

Between 2017 and 2019, Sepideh had a recurring role in the first two seasons of The Deuce before being upgraded to a starring role in Season 3. From there, Sepideh starred in The L Word: Generation Q between 2019 and 2023. The thing that makes that fascinating is that Black Bird was released in the middle of Sepideh’s The L Word: Generation Q run.

Sepideh has also appeared in a handful of films during her career, including The Killing of Two Lovers and I’ll Be Right There.

More notably, Sepideh has made appearances on several popular shows during her career. For example, Sepideh appeared in episodes of Blue Bloods, Nurse Jackie, The Good Wife, The Blacklist, Limitless, and Elementary. Sepideh also had a starring role in the short-lived 2016 show Notorious.

The Pitt Season 2 Will Feature More New Actors

Earlier in June 2025, Deadline published another article revealing casting news for The Pitt Season 2. That article revealed that four other new actors would play roles in the hit show’s second season.

The news that Deadline’s article revealed that garnered the most attention was Charles Baker casting in The Pitt Season 2. Best known for portraying a supporting role in the show Breaking Bad, Charles portrayed Skinny Pete, a good friend of Jesse Pinkman’s.

Deadline’s article stated that Charles will portray an unhoused patient named Troy who seeks treatment during The Pitt Season 2.

The Pitt Season 2 will also feature the actor Irene Choi as a third-year medical student named Joy. Deadline’s article stated that Joy is extremely knowledgeable, can be macabre, and she has strong boundaries.

During The Pitt Season 2, Laëtitia Hollard will portray a recent nursing school graduate named Emma who seems naive. Finally, Deadline’s article revealed that Lucas Iverson will portray a fourth-year medical student named James during The Pitt Season 2.
