BIBB COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Three men have been arrested in connection to a child abuse investigation that was launched by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office in February.
On February 4, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division initiated an investigation due to concerns involving the sexual abuse of children in an underground bunker in Brent.
Investigators conducted interviews, leading to the arrest of William Chase McElroy. McElroy is in custody at the Bibb County Jail facing charges for four counts of rape in the first degree, six counts of human trafficking in the first degree, six counts of sodomy in the first degree and four counts of kidnapping in the first degree.
On April 25, Dalton Terrell was identified as a second suspect. Terrell was charged with six counts of rape in the first degree, 12 counts of sodomy in the first degree and five counts of human trafficking in the first degree. He is being held in the Bibb County Jail.
The third suspect, Andres Velazquez-Trejo, was arrested on April 29. He is being held in the Bibb County Jail on charges of six counts of human trafficking in the first degree.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, details are currently limited due to the investigation being ongoing.
