SAVANNAH, Ga () – The dangerous heat and humidity continue today, with high temperatures once again near the 100 degree mark. The heat index or “feels like” temperatures will range from 108 to 110 degrees this afternoon. Please remember to stay cool and hydrated, seek out shade or air-conditioned spaces, and avoid strenuous outdoor activity for extended periods.

The intense heat sticks around into Monday, though there’s a slightly better chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms. While most storms will be typical for summer, a few could turn strong to severe, with gusty winds being the primary threat.

A break from the heat arrives Tuesday as a cold front moves through. Highs will drop to the lower 90s, bringing some much-needed relief. As the front stalls to our south, we’ll see continued rain chances through the end of the week, with temperatures staying slightly below average in the upper 80s to lower 90s.

Enjoy the cooldown while it lasts, it’s July, and more intense heat is likely on the way!
