A Virginia woman reportedly called 911 to report that she believed she shot her ex-boyfriend, then met cops in a grocery store parking lot.
In a press release posted to its website, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 32-year-old Ashlynn Blair. According to police, Blair called 911 on Friday saying she “thinks” she shot her 31-year-old ex-boyfriend, who was not identified. Blair reportedly waited for sheriff’s deputies in the parking lot of a Giant grocery store where she was taken into custody.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a report of a shooting at 12:40 p.m. on Friday afternoon. Blair had placed a 911 call herself and told the dispatcher that she “thinks” she shot and killed her ex-boyfriend at his home. She then told the dispatcher where she was.
Deputies arrived at the parking lot of the Giant grocery store where Blair said she was located. She allegedly had a gun with her, and police took her into custody.
At the same time, police responded to the home where Blair told them the alleged shooting took place. Upon their arrival, sheriff’s deputies found a 31-year-old man and declared him deceased at the scene. Police determined that the alleged shooting occurred as a result of a domestic situation.
Blair was booked into the Rappahannock Regional Jail and charged with second-degree murder and using a firearm while committing a felony. She is being held without bond. Her next court date is scheduled for Sept. 10.
