The new CEO of Astronomer has released a statement on his assumption of the role, hinting at his excitement over the unusual Coldplay concert cuddling incident that resulted in his appointment.

Former chief executive Andy Byron and HR chief Kristy Cabot were seen embracing on the jumbotron while the band performed for thousands at Gillette Stadium in Boston on Tuesday.

Byron then resigned from his position, leaving Pete DeJoy to step in as interim CEO for the tech company.

On Monday, DeJoy shared on LinkedIn about his new, now-official position, expressing enthusiasm that Astronomer gained significant recognition due to the incident.

He wrote: ‘The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name.

‘I’m stepping into this role with a wholehearted commitment to taking care of our people and delivering for our customers. Astronomer’s foundation remains strong, built around the thriving Apache Airflow community.’

He added that the company ‘won’t let you down.’

During the awkward and very public moment that is the talk all over the world, Coldplay’s front man Chris Martin, 48, said: ‘Oh look at these two!’ when he spotted Byron and Cabot.

They then mischievously spun around as Martin added: ‘Oh what? Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy.’

The camera stayed trained on the pair, while an astonished woman stood next to them appeared to laugh uncontrollably at the uncomfortable situation.

The moment at Boston’s Gillette Stadium quickly went viral and prompted an internet frenzy.

Public records suggest both Byron, 50, and Cabot, 56, are married – but that they live at different addresses to each of their spouses registered abodes.

The controversy grew so large that Byron stepped down from his role after Astronomer launched an investigation.

The company provides generative AI software to a number of major companies including Uber, Ford and LinkedIn.

In a statement announcing Byron’s departure, Astronomer addressed the controversy.

‘As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding,’ it read.

‘Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.

‘While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not.

‘We’re continuing to do what we do best: helping our customers with their toughest data and AI problems.’

This was not the first CEO Cabot has been with, as Daily Mail confirmed she is currently married to another high powered man.

Massachusetts property documents dated in January confirmed that Cabot is currently married to Andrew Cabot, the chief executive of Privateer Rum, a Massachusetts-based booze maker.

It is unclear exactly when the pair tied the knot, but the documents confirmed that Cabot, whose maiden name is Stanek, was married at the time of selling a $1.8m property in Watertown, Massachusetts, earlier this year.

Privateer Rum’s website lists Andrew Cabot as its CEO and COO of the company, and public documents show that he has been married at least twice before, in 1993 and 2014.

He shares two children with his first wife Maud, who shared a picture of her ex-husband with Cabot looking loved up at his daughters 25th birthday party on social media in April of last year.

Meanwhile, public records listed Megan Kerrigan as Byron’s wife, but they live at separate addresses.

While the awkward cuddling moment swept the internet, another angle of the pair showed Byron ‘all over’ his HR chief before they were caught red-handed at the stadium.

The new video, obtained by TMZ, showed the pair sharing an intimate moment as the band performed their hit song Yellow, swaying and embracing in front of thousands of fans as the stadium lit up with phone lights.

‘They were all over each other even when they weren’t on the kiss-cam,’ TMZ reported.

‘This rear-view shows a much more intimate interaction,’ the outlet added, suggesting the couple’s closeness wasn’t a fleeting moment – but something far more familiar.

Filmed from behind their seats, the footage shows Byron leaning in to kiss Cabot as the duo hug tightly.

Both appeared relaxed and carefree, entirely unaware that moments later they’d be launched into viral fame – and scandal – when they appeared on the stadium’s giant screen.

The woman who caught the notorious moment, Grace Springer, 28, was just filming her time at the concert when she stumbled upon the duo on the big screen.

The clip went viral online and amassed millions of views, and Grace, of New Jersey, shared her side of the story on Monday’s episode of This Morning to Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

‘I was hoping to see myself on the big screen and I love to capture moments so that’s why my phone was out in the first place,’ Grace explained.

However, at first she didn’t realize quite what she had caught on her camera.

She added: ‘In the moment when I filmed it I didn’t think much of it but everyone was kind of chattering.

‘There was over 50,000 people at the concert so it was a hot topic.

‘But it wasn’t until after the concert that I was debriefing the moment with my friends and said, ‘let’s review the footage, let’s see if it really looks that bad’. And I think it does.’

Daily Mail contacted Astronomer for comment.
