If you thought Shannon Storms Beador was done talking about her ex-boyfriend John Janssen on The Real Housewives of Orange County, you would be sadly mistaken. The longtime Housewife shared the final update on the lawsuit involving her ex-boyfriend in the Season 19 premiere, and it appears that Shannon is finally moving on from the toxic relationship.

Season 19 sees Shannon in a new place in life. She’s happily single, focusing on her kids, and working on some of the friendships in the group. Although Shannon is officially done with John’s drama, his name and their former lawsuit have already popped up in the first two episodes of the new season.

Shannon Beador Settled The Hefty Lawsuit With John Janssen

In the Season 19 premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Shannon Storms Beador updated fans on where she stood in her lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend, John Janssen.

“I don’t think about John Janssen at all,” she told the cameras. “I did settle the lawsuit because it was important for me to not have any ties to him anymore. We settled on $60,000. So enjoy that wedding that I paid for.”

The wedding that Shannon is referring to was between John and RHOC alumna Alexis Bellino. John and Alexis started dating shortly after he and Shannon broke up. Many fans in the Bravosphere found it ironic that he dated yet another Housewife. Alexis came back as a friend in Season 18 and went head-to-head over John.

According to US Weekly, John sued Shannon in 2024 for “breach of oral contract and promissory fraud.” To summarize, John claimed that he lent Shannon $75,000 during their relationship. Once they broke up, he wanted the money back. Shannon, however, claimed the money was a gift for her cosmetic procedures, and a battle ensued.

Now, it looks like Shannon and John settled for $60,000 so that both people could move on with their lives.

After the premiere aired, Alexis commented to US Weekly about Shannon’s comments. “First of all, obviously I’m still Shannon’s storyline, and I’m glad I could help her out with that.” The former Housewife continued, “But here’s the other part to that. Let me just set the record straight. It was $75,000 she owed my soon-to-be husband. We then gave her a discount of $15,000, so you’re welcome, Shannon, but also keep his name out of your mouth. She can’t keep his name out of her mouth, but [he’ll be] my husband, not hers, so it’s time for her to move on.”

Has Shannon Moved On From John?

After the end of Shannon’s toxic relationship with John, she moved on to Bravo’s reality TV show, Love Hotel. She decided to allow Bravo to help her find her happily ever after. There, she met Earl Thompson. According to Bravo, the two dated for a short while after the series ended, but they ultimately called it quits.

Whenever Shannon is ready to date again, she now knows what she’s looking for in a man. “I think that my list is not long. I would like to meet someone who has a kind heart, that is intelligent, and funny, and has good family values,” she said. Shannon continued, “My perfect man is someone that is confident and successful and thinks it’s super cute that I’m on this little silly show and doesn’t really want to be a part of it.”

Shannon Beador Is On A New Chapter In Season 19

The premiere of Season 19 of The Real Housewives of Orange County was an emotional one. The Housewives shared where they were with the other Housewives since cameras stopped rolling last year. While Tamra Judge and Emily Simpson had gut-wrenching storylines, Shannon’s life was on the up.

While Shannon was happy to be done with John Janssen, she was having trouble with some of the other Housewives.

• Although most of the cast had issues with Katie Ginella, Shannon stood by her side while the women ganged up on her. Shannon didn’t like that it was one person against the group.
• The group accused Katie of talking to blogs and the press about inner group drama.

However, Shannon’s admiration for Katie faded by the second episode. Tamra Judge leaked that Katie filmed one of Shannon’s meltdowns without her consent and sent the video to Alexis Bellino. Shannon’s attitude towards Katie shifted after hearing that Katie was allegedly in cahoots with her enemy.

Shannon stepped away from the table upon hearing the information to gather her thoughts before reacting — something new for Shannon. However, the trailer for RHOC showed Shannon battling with Katie, proving her calm demeanor in an argument doesn’t last long.

Now that Shannon is happily single and focused on her daughters, it’s a new chapter for her. Fans hope to see her and Tamra reconnect after years of feuding, and to focus on her sobriety after a few bumpy run-ins with the law.
