() The suspect accused of killing an “American Idol” executive and her husband inside their Encino, California, home earlier this month used the couple’s gun in the fatal shooting, according to Los Angeles County officials.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman shared the new information at a town hall on Monday that was attended by more than 200 residents, according to KABC.

Suspect used cellphone to call police

The alleged shooter, 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian, was arrested on July 16 in connection with the shooting. According to officials, the shooting looks to be random, but they were investigating whether the suspect was connected to Robin Kaye, 70, and Thomas Deluca, 70.

Police discovered Kaye and Deluca’s bodies on July 14 in response to a welfare check. The couple was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds, including to the head.

Authorities were able to find Boodarian after he used his phone to call police and provide his name, Hochman reportedly told attendees.

Kaye was a music supervisor on “American Idol” from 2009 to 2023. She’s also worked on “Miss Universe,” the NAACP Image Awards, “The Singing Bee,” “Hollywood Game Night,” “Lip Sync Battle” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” according to her IMDB page. Deluca was a singer-songwriter.
