LOUISVILLE, KY (WCIA) — Tanner Thomas has been a Louisville baseball commit since 2021.

He’s preparing for his first season with the Cardinals. As a freshman, his first focus is contributing on the bump in any way he can.

“They usually are really good about giving freshmen pitchers opportunities during the season because there are so many games,” Thomas said. “I think that I’ll be given the opportunity to (pitch), I just have to make the most of it.”

Along his time in high school, he played four different sports: baseball, basketball, track, and two years of football.

The chance to move up to the next level allows him to specialize in baseball.

“Being able to focus on baseball honestly for the first time in my life and not have to play other sports is really probably what I’m most excited for,” Thomas said.

Thomas hopes to eventually play in the outfield as well.

On the bump, he throws a fastball, curveball, changeup, and slider, throwing as hard as 93 mph.
