CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — Hulk Hogan’s wife, Sky Daily Hogan, shared a poignant message on social media Friday, one day after Hogan died at their Clearwater home.

“I wasn’t ready for this… and my heart is in pieces,” Daily’s Instagram post began.

She described feeling hopeful that the wrestling icon would recover following a recent health scare, saying that she “thought we still had more time.”

Clearwater police and medical crews were called to the home where Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, suffered an apparent cardiac arrest just before 10 a.m. He was pronounced dead at Morton Plant Hospital at 11:17 a.m.

“This loss is sudden and impossible to process,” Daily wrote. “To the world, he was a legend… but to me, he was my Terry. The man I loved. My partner. My heart.”

Daily said that, despite the 71-year-old’s physical health issues, he still made an effort to connect with his fans, the “Hulkamaniacs.”

“Hulk loved his fans so much and despite his growing physical discomfort, he did everything he could to show up, sign autographs, take photos, and connect with the people who supported him through it all. You meant everything to him,” Daily wrote.

Hogan’s wife also mentioned his Christian faith. He was baptized at Indian Rocks Beach Baptist Church in December 2023 and, at the time, described the event as “the greatest day of my life.”

“He was a believer in Christ, and I take comfort knowing his soul is at peace and he’s been welcomed home,” Daily wrote.

Hogan’s death is under investigation, but Clearwater Police Major Nate Burnside said in a news conference Thursday that “there are no signs of foul play or anything suspicious about his death.”

“Please keep his family and all of us who loved him in your prayers as we try to navigate this new reality,” Daily’s Instagram post concluded.
