SAN DIEGO — FX’s “Alien: Earth” is a sci-fi thriller set in the year 2120 that sees cyborgs, synthetics and humans co-existing on Earth. According to the official synopsis, “When the mysterious deep space research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth, “Wendy” (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.”

Creator and executive producer Noah Hawley, Chandler and Timothy Olyphant, who plays “Kirsh” attended San Diego Comic-Con and spoke with On The Red Carpet’s George Pennacchio. Olyphant and Pennacchio have known each other for years and Olyphant even introduced Pennacchio to Chandler as a Hollywood legend. So he asked Chandler, who is newer to the Hollywood scene, what she learned from the veteran actor.

“There is a thing called ‘Big Tim Energy,’ and we all channeled it throughout the six-month shoot. I wanted to make the T-shirt, and I haven’t yet, and I will,” she said.

We’ll take a few of those when you make them, please and thanks.

While Chandler didn’t elaborate, we are guessing the “Big Tim Energy” is the positivity he brings to the set. He was quick to praise Chandler as a colleague and actor.

“She was a joy to work with, a professional, on time, always made interesting choices. I was thinking that tonight, this afternoon, we were just watching it, and I remember like yesterday, you saying, ‘I’m going to save him.’ And every take, I just remember thinking, it’s just lovely, it was just lovely. It was really, really wonderful work,” he said.

The mutual admiration society continued with Hawley.

“I was just trying to create a safe space for the actors to feel like they can play. And these are both a couple of players right here. Tim’s always good to go down any road we talk about, said Hawley.” Sydney you know she’s so alive. I haven’t really worked with an actor before who’s such an active listener and always engaged and you know, listening to her heart.”

“Alien: Earth” premieres August 12 on FX and streams the next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of FX, Hulu and this ABC station.
