SAVANNAH, Ga. () — The USA Track & Field Junior Olympics continue in Savannah. This is day five of the event held on the campus of Savannah State University.

This event brings over 7,500 athletes from all over the country to the Hostess City. They continue to compete to be the best in their age group and event.

The track events were held at the Ted Wright Stadium. The field events take place right outside the stadium.

USA Track & Field General Counsel Sarah Austin said they are happy to be in Savannah and have enjoyed their time so far.

“This is the first time we’ve been in Savannah,” Austin said. “I think everybody’s having a great time here in town. There’s plenty to do within the city, which is wonderful for the families that really use this opportunity to have a family vacation while also coming out here and competing at the Junior Olympics. So they’ve taken advantage of that and seen this city. We’ve had a lot of fanfare here on the campus, which has been great. So I think everybody’s having a great time.”

The event continues through Sunday, July 27, and will end with a closing ceremony.
