Between 1994 and 1996, Mexican giants Club América wore one of the most beloved football shirts of all time.

The yellow adidas jersey – with its red, blue, and black diamond pattern across the chest, centralised crest, and iconic Coca-Cola sponsor – is etched into football kit history and still cherished by fans and collectors alike.

Now, that legendary look may be making a comeback.

Leaked photos from Footy Headlines suggests Club América’s upcoming 2025/26 home shirt will pay direct homage to that era-defining design.

Similar to the original, the leaked kit features a bright yellow base, with bold red, blue, and black squares extending just below the crest and into the Caliente sponsor. The crest remains centred, a nod to the original layout.

The new version swaps in adidas’ modern touches, including black rounded neck detailing and three-stripe branding on the shoulders. Unlike the classic v-neck from the mid-’90s, this updated version keeps the silhouette contemporary while clearly echoing its roots.

While not a one-to-one replica, the resemblance is unmistakable. And with adidas returning as Club América’s kit supplier for the first time since 2000, the throwback design feels like a deliberate bridge between past and present.

It’s retro – but it’s new. If confirmed, this reimagined kit won’t just please die-hard América supporters –it could go down as an instant modern classic.
