Kelly Clarkson is making a triumphant return to The Voice Season 29, The Voice: Battle of Champions, reuniting with coaches Adam Levine and John Legend. In the season’s first promo, she unveiled a bold hair transformation — a choppy, side‑parted bob with a nearly brown hue. Simultaneously, Clarkson is charting new ground in her music career: launching her own independent label, releasing her debut indie single “Where Have You Been” in May 2025, and staging a high‑energy Las Vegas residency. So, are all of Clarkson’s changes a sign of life advancements, or is she “crumbling” like some sources allege?
Kelly Clarkson overhauled her hair and career ahead of ‘The Voice’ Season 29
Kelly Clarkson has completely reinvented her look with a dramatic, shoulder‑grazing haircut that signals bold renewal ahead of her return to The Voice Season 29. In the official promotional teaser released July 23, 2025, she showcased a choppy, side-parted bob in a darker blonde-brown tone, sharply contrasted with her signature long blonde locks — a transformation fans greeted with excitement and praise. Paired with a bold red lip and menswear-inspired attire, the haircut amplifies her confident energy as she steps back into the red chair.
Adam Levine and John Legend joined Clarkson in the new promo. And fans are excited to see what’s in store. “This time, we’ve got some tricks up our sleeve. Ya’ll get ready,” Clarkson warns while pressing the iconic red button that turns her chair.
It’s not just Clarkson’s look that’s turning heads. According to People, Clarkson struck a deal with HarbourView Equity Partners, selling them a portion of her music catalogue.
“My music is such a huge part of my journey — not just professionally, but personally,” Clarkson said in a statement. “Knowing these songs will continue to be heard and discovered by new generations means everything to me. I’m grateful to HarbourView for valuing and supporting this catalogue the way they do.”
Insiders allege that Kelly Clarkson is ‘hitting a wall’
Kelly Clarkson certainly works hard. Not only does she host her talk show and continue to make music, but she’s now taking on The Voice Season 29 while headlining a Las Vegas residency. Her residency, “Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, began in July 2025 and runs until mid-November 2025.
Is Clarkson successfully balancing it all? An insider told British journalist and gossip columnist Rob Shuter that she’s “hitting a wall.” This report came after Clarkson unexpectedly canceled the opening nights of her residency.
“She’s not OK” a friend alleged. “This isn’t just about her voice. It’s about her hitting a wall.”
“This isn’t about one show,” another source alleged. “It’s about her well-being. We’re watching someone we love crumble under pressure.”
Another insider told Star Magazine that Clarkson’s friends are “astonished” that she accepted The Voice gig.
“Of course, The Voice is a favorite of hers, and it’ll be fun, but people would have preferred for her to pass on it, take a break, be with family, and stop worrying about money and putting herself in the spotlight,” the source alleged, according to Yahoo.
Yet another source discussed the ‘American Idol’ winner’s ‘insanely complicated’ life
Kelly Clarkson’s divorce from her husband, Brandon Blackstock, unfolded over several turbulent years and left a lasting impact. After marrying in October 2013 following a long courtship, the couple announced their separation in June 2020, citing irreconcilable differences. As part of the settlement, Clarkson agreed to a one-time payment exceeding $1.3 million and monthly spousal and child support. She was granted primary custody of their two children, daughter River and son Remington, while Blackstock retained joint legal custody.
“Kelly’s personal life is so insanely complicated,” an insider told Page Six. “Kelly is fighting some serious hidden battles that very few people are privy to … it’s a source of emotional and therefore physical distress for her.”
