Comic-Con favorite Mark Hamill thrills fans by attending the 2025 event in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Day two of San Diego Comic-Con was just as busy as the first. The crowded convention floor means you can’t go very fast but that does allow you to look around and appreciate all the people who dress up for the occasion.

Friday, we found some superheroes who flew in from Las Vegas – and a guy who’s maybe too big a “force” in the Comic-Con world – Mark Hamill.

“I love fans. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be here, but when you go down there, they sort of swarm and you’re stuck,” Hamill said. “You know, you can’t do one selfie, you have to do 50,000 selfies. That’s the law!”

Hamill’s imprint is all over Comic-Con because “Star Wars” is always a star here. This year, Hamill is excited to talk about another project, his new movie, “The Long Walk,” based on the novel by Stephen King.

“I’m just a badass. I mean, if I do my job right, everyone will hate my guts! That’s OK,” said Hamill. “If you’re a villain, it’s great to have the boos. Boo!”

For another Comic-Con scare, you can head to the nearby Hard Rock to check out the immersive experience going on for the upcoming film, “Predator: Badlands.”

“Huge ‘Predator’ fan. Love the movies,” said Travis Frame. “I mean, the original is iconic. I think what (Dan) Trachtenberg did with ‘Prey’ was awesome. Super excited to see what he does with this.”

There is so much to see and do here that convention-goers get to pick and choose. And sometimes, they just choose to just enjoy what’s going on around them.

“I love Comic-Con. I love cosplay. It’s 2025. I’ve been attending for 37 years,” said Dean LeCrone. “It is a love fest. It’s the largest pop culture event on the planet. There’s something for everybody.”
