Apple TV+ drops first look at 'Pluribus,' the new series from 'Breaking Bad' creator Vince Gilligan

Apple TV+ just gave fans a first look at Pluribus, the new genre-bending drama from Breaking Bad mastermind Vince Gilligan — and yes, it’s already locked in a second season.

Starring Emmy-nominated Better Call Saul breakout Rhea Seehorn, the nine-episode series will make its global debut on Apple TV+ on Friday, November 7, 2025, with a two-episode premiere. New episodes will roll out weekly through December 26.

The official logline? It’s out there. Pluribus is set in a world where “the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.” (Yes, really.) Gilligan, who also created Better Call Saul, directs and executive produces the series, which is being described as a mix of The Twilight Zone and The X-Files, both of which he previously worked on.

In addition to Seehorn, Pluribus stars Karolina Wydra (Sneaky Pete) and Carlos Manuel Vesga (The Hijacking of Flight 601), with guest appearances from Miriam Shor (American Fiction) and Samba Schutte (Our Flag Means Death).

The series comes from Sony Pictures Television and counts Gilligan, Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Diane Mercer, Allyce Ozarski, and Jeff Frost among its executive producers. Jenn Carroll and Trina Siopy serve as co-executive producers.

While much of the plot remains under wraps, early reports from Deadline in 2022 teased a “thought-provoking but not a morality tale” series set in our world, that “explores human nature in unexpected ways.” The following year, Gilligan told Variety that the show would be set in Albuquerque — though not the one fans might recognize.

“The world changes very abruptly in the first episode, and then it is quite different,” Gilligan said. “And the consequences that that reaps hopefully provide drama for many, many episodes after that.”

As for how viewers will react?

“It’s a story that interests me,” he said. “But I have no predictions as to how people will react to it.”

Pluribus was reportedly the subject of a multi-network bidding war before Apple TV+ came out on top.

Ready for another Gilligan mind-bender? Mark your calendar for November 7.
