Starling Marte made a welcome return to the Mets’ lineup Wednesday.

The veteran outfielder went 2-for-4 with a double in his return from the injured list during a 6-3 win over the Angels.

Marte gets a nice match up Saturday night in San Francisco against Robbie Ray, whom he has thrived against over the years.

In 25 major league at-bats against the former Cy Young Award recipient, Marte has achieved a batting line of .348/.400/.652, including a home run, a triple, and two doubles.

Although it’s been an up-and-down season for Marte, he’s continued to hit southpaw pitchers, slashing .284/.361/.405 with a pair of homers.

Marte had been much better at the plate before hurting his knee in early July, hitting .349/.391/.460 in the month before the injury.

His full-season numbers are being held down by an atrocious start.

Back on May 4, Marte’s batting average was just .167, but he has improved it significantly to .275 by the time Saturday’s game approaches, thanks to his performance over the last two and a half months.

Despite having only 192 plate appearances this season, Marte’s power stats might not immediately stand out, with four home runs and eight doubles. However, he is actually showing more power at the plate compared to his past two seasons.

Marte should slide into the No. 5 spot of the Mets lineup with a lefty on the mound, and I’m expecting another big night from him.

The play: Starling Marte Over 1.5 total bases (+135, DraftKings)
