Nigeria’s Super Falcons claim their 10th CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title with 3-2 win over Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses at Stade Olympique in Rabat.

The victory extends Nigeria’s record as Africa’s most successful women’s football team.

Morocco took an early lead in the 12th minute through Ghizlane Chebbak’s strike.

Mssoudy then doubled the hosts’ advantage in the 24th minute.

After a long wait, Nigeria responded in the 64th minute when Esther Okoronkwo converted a penalty after a handball by Morocco’s Nouhaila Benzina, confirmed by VAR.

The Super Falcons leveled the score in the 71st minute with a goal from Chinaza Ijamilusi.

Jennifer Echegini sealed the comeback in the 88th minute, scoring the decisive goal to put Nigeria ahead for the first time.

Morocco, despite their attacking prowess with 11 tournament goals, could not find an equalizer in six minutes of added time.

The Super Falcons, coached by Justine Madugu, maintained their perfect record in WAFCON finals, having won all 10 they contested.

Meanwhile, Morocco, in their second final, remain without a title, having lost to South Africa 2-1 in the last final.
