Anne Nolan, 74, has shared a “very personal” update with her Instagram followers about her breast cancer battle. She penned: “Back in 2020, during the lockdown, I discovered a lump while taking a bath. I went to the hospital to get it checked, and it was confirmed that I had breast cancer for the second time. While the world faced a global pandemic, I began a tough round of chemotherapy.

“At the same time, my sister Linda was also undergoing treatment for breast cancer. We went through it together, side by side, supporting each other during those long, challenging hours. We were incredibly well cared for by the amazing team at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, and I’m forever grateful for their support.”

Anne added with delight: “Now, five years later, I’m overjoyed to share that my latest results show I am cancer-free.”

The star, whose family has a long history with cancer, continued: “To everyone out there, women and men, who are currently going through cancer treatment, please know there is hope. Keep going, no matter what. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

“Lastly, I want to thank my wonderful friends and, of course, my incredible family for getting me through some of the hardest times of my life. Life is for living, and I can’t wait to live more, laugh more, see more, and love more.”

The news comes several months after one of her sisters, Linda, sadly died aged 65 from the disease two decades after first being diagnosed.

In 2013, their sister Bernie died from breast cancer, and Loose Women star Coleen has skin cancer. Another sister, Bernie, died from breast cancer in 2013. Coleen Nolan, another sister, has also been diagnosed with skin cancer.

In 2023, Coleen discovered she had basal cell carcinoma on her shoulder and pre-cancerous melanoma on her face.

She said on Loose Women at the time: “[Doctors said] it is actually a cancer that doesn’t necessarily spread, but you do need to treat it and we’ll try it with cream and then the chemo cream and then if that doesn’t work, we’ll cut it out and give you a skin graft.”
