OCALA, Fla. – The Ocala Police Department arrested 15 suspects following a three-day undercover sting operation aimed at apprehending individuals attempting to sexually exploit children, a news release stated.
From June 26-28, detectives posed as minors on various chat apps to communicate with the suspects, the department said. The individuals the department targeted knowingly engaged in “explicit online communication” with someone they believed to be a child and then traveled to meet the child, the release said.
Of those arrested, six are Ocala residents; seven are Marion County residents; and two live outside of Marion County, according to the release.
Officials said the ages of those arrested ranged from 18 to 59 years old.

In total, 49 charges were filled, officials said.
