New Fractured Media Nominations: CBS Has PTSD, NYT Has TDS, Stelter's OCD, and Feline Anxiety Disorder

Regularly, we compile some of the most fractured examples of journalism, nominating them for the un-coveted dishonor of “winning” our un-distinguished Remmy Award. At the end of the year, we recognize the greats by gathering examples in a number of categories and judiciously choosing the deserving performances.

Here are the latest nominees for The Remmys.

Distinguished Explanatory Reporting

In looking back on the one-year anniversary of the assassination attempt on then-candidate Donald Trump, the CBS veteran, who was in attendance in Butler, PA, was detailing for Chuck Todd what transpired. MacFarlane described dramatically how that event was so terrifying, emotional, and dangerous.

For him.

MacFarlane actually claimed that those in attendance were about to turn on the reporters and blame them for Trump nearly being killed, but that they were spared when Trump stood up and raised his fist. (So Scott wants us to believe that in the furor, people understood what was happening, processed the threat, rationalized the media were culpable, and were about to act out in some kind of revenge violence – in the window of about 20 seconds.)

MacFarlane actually said he and other reporters agreed they were close to dying that day. He was also diagnosed with PTSD, he says.

We can go ahead and give him the trophy already; this is a sure winner.

As there is a wholly manufactured “controversy” surrounding the Navy’s Blue Angels squadron flying over the skies of Seattle, one resident’s story is the impetus to end the patriotic display. One local claims her cat had been traumatized by the jets flying over their home, so she has been inspired to sue the Blue Angels. However, there is a catch; this does not directly concern the death of her cat, who perished from heart disease.

Lauren Lombardi initially reached out to the Navy pilots through their Instagram account.

  • Stop with your F——g bull—- you are terrorizing my cat and all the other animals and wildlife,” Lombardi wrote to the squadron via Instagram on Aug. 3 last year. “Nobody gives a f— about your stupid little planes.

Now, the Blue Angels had an appropriate and normal reaction to a screeching, unhinged cat lady popping up in their feed; Lombardi was blocked after her tirade. So she is suing the pilots and the people behind the social account – over censorship.

That NBC News treats all of this as a valid news item is bad enough, but then we see the press that hesitates when calling someone pregnant a “woman” has no hesitation claiming a paternal title regarding a feline.

  • She tried to direct-message the Blue Angels with a one-word response, “cowards,” on Aug. 5 last year, “which appeared to send but was never delivered due to the blocking,” according to the lawsuit penned by attorney Nacim Bouchtia, who is married to Lombardi and was listed as Layla’s human father.

Maybe election coverage is not your strong suit.

In covering the Arizona special election, Jacobs seemed particularly taken with upstart candidate Deja Foxx, an influencer who was said to be a bellwether for the political future of content creators moving into public offices and who Jacobs felt had a strong shot at winning a nomination. He reported that she could “seriously win” a seat in Congress, citing “real political viability,” as he bought her campaign saying their polling showed her being close to her opponent. Jacobs seemed excited as he announced, “Foxx has a legitimate shot to win.”

She promptly lost the election, by a staggering curb-stomped result of 40 points in the primary vote.

The senior White House reporter delivered a very lengthy rebuke of President Trump using what he declares to be incendiary language directed at his political opponents. Of particular note is that he dared at times to describe those opposing him as “evil,” and included on that list are journalists, so you understand Peter taking particular offense. What makes his outrage particularly precious, however, is that he needs all of us to harbor a deep amount of amnesia about the recent years.

We need to forget that Joe Biden was not particularly genteel with his political opponents, often describing Republicans and Trump supporters in harsh terms. Let’s not forget the land mine he stepped on in describing those on the right as “garbage,” as one example.

What is especially hilarious about Baker getting his boxers in a twist over this language from Trump is he operates in the industry that has had no hesitation to describe Trump in some of the worst labeling found; “Hitler,” “fascist,” “murderer,” “killer of democracy,” and any other invective has been tossed around so freely we do not even register it any longer — but how DARE that same man speak in a manner approaching the descriptions he has to absorb!

If you ever need the quintessential example of why you should disregard any time news outlets rely on experts to foist a narrative on the public, there was this gem of an op-ed. Punchlines poured forth as this former Biden official, who helped oversee his disastrous immigration standards that allowed tens of millions to stream into the country, offered his “solution” to our current challenges.

It is like listening to a lecture on modesty from an OnlyFans starlet.

Distinguished Public Service

For days, the media maven at CNN was pushing hard the theory that Stephen Colbert had been “canceled” by President Trump. (DETAILS: His contract will not be renewed when it ends next year, he is not being replaced, he is not fired, his show is ending, and it was due to $40 million in annual losses.)

Stelter still was clinging to this narrative even when he was informed by insiders at the network — free to speak off the record — that it was a purely financial decision.

But others are speculating about it on social media, so he deemed THAT to be the real story.

The paper detailed that a local immigration lawyer was desperate to get help from ICE for clients, but once she made contact, they gave her a number for a department that could help her. She says that after dialing, it was revealed to be the number for a Mexican fast food chain.

The outlet went ahead without getting official word from DHS or ICE, and ran this based mostly on the fact that the lawyer posted her claims on TikTok, and went viral. DHS has come out with the statement not only denying these claims but also saying THEY have reached out to the lawyer and gave her multiple contacts for her to get help, yet she has made no effort to reach out on behalf of her clients.

The esteemed Pulitzer Prize-winning Greenhouse had a bold, forceful rebuke of the Trump administration and what she calls a “venomous cruelty” spreading across the country, all based on a scene she personally witnessed. Well…almost witnessed, but not really. Because it did not actually happen.

Ms. Greenhouse detailed the harrowing event when she was out strolling near her home and spotted a nefarious black SUV. She ran through a litany of options for her to react, from recording the event, to intervening, or lending legal advice to those impacted by…what never played out.

It turned out to be an airport limousine picking up travelers.

But this still reflects horribly on the Trump administration!!!

Editor’s Note: The mainstream media continues to deflect, gaslight, spin, and lie about President Trump, his administration, and conservatives.
