Netflix’s beloved original series, Stranger Things, is slated to premeire this fall with its fifth and final season. Starting way back in 2016, the show has captivated its global audience for almost ten years with its adored cast, gripping plot and spine-tingling visuals. Season 5 comes four years after Season 4’s ending, due to things like the writers’ strike, elaborate filmmaking, and even just the need for the cast to age to properly fit the narrative. Fans are used to this sort of delayed gratification, though—Season 4 came three years after Season 3.

How Many Episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 Will There Be?

Stranger Things Season 5 will be released in three parts on Netflix, starting later this fall. Volume 1, containing four episodes, is scheduled to come out on Thanksgiving, or Nov. 26, 2025. Volume 2, with three episodes, will be released on Christmas, or Dec. 25, 2025. Finally, the finale will air on New Years’ Eve. Each volume will be released at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET—marking a rare Netflix original drop during American primetime.
