The Valley Season 2 Reunion: Part 1 Recap
Share and Follow

Season 2 of The Valley proved to be far messier and more riveting than ever. The season brought back familiar faces like Vanderpump Rules stars Kristen Doute (who is newly engaged to fiancé Luke Broderick), and Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright as they navigate a toxic split. Friends like Jesse Lally and Michelle Saniei were also dealing with a separation, while Danny Booko and Nia Sanchez Booko faced a damaging allegation and plans for four babies under four.

Meanwhile, Janet and Jason Caperna faced their own fair share of betrayal, backstabbing, and a ringless rumor that broke up a friendship between Janet and Kristen. Further, Zack Wickham finally told Brittany his true feelings about not having his back, and Jasmine Goode made plans to propose to girlfriend Melissa Marie.

The Valley Season 2 returned with a three-part reunion, with the first part airing on July 29. As the finale showed friendships in shambles, will anything get resolved between these cast mates as they met face-to-face again?

The Valley Season 2 Reunion: Part 1

The reunion kicks off with a look back six years ago when Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor appeared at a Vanderpump Rules reunion and shared that they had no prenup in place because they would be together forever. Fast-forward to today, and they are in the process of a divorce, and have had an incredibly toxic relationship this season.

Before the drama erupts, the reunion begins with some heartwarming news: Both Kristen Doute and Nia Sanchez Booko are pregnant, which means Nia and Danny got their “four under four.” In other good news, Jasmine Goode and Melissa Marie are engaged, and Jason Caperna is wearing his wedding ring.

Kristen starts things off with host Andy Cohen telling her, “You may have been the voice of reason this season.” In a surprising move, Kristen begins the reunion with an apology to Janet Caperna, as the two had a rocky relationship this entire season.

“If I can start things off with an apology to Janet,” Kristen begins with Janet looking quite shocked. “For just the crap that was flying out of my mouth about beat your a**, knock you out. I would never ever, and that was just not my best moment, and obviously calling you a wh*** because that’s just not true.”

Andy then switches it to Brittany, who shares that she and Jax will be divorced “soon.” In fact, their relationship doesn’t appear to be any better as they continue to throw jabs at one another. Brittany reveals that Jax called her and shared that if he got kicked off the show he would be “prolonging” the divorce “in case he needed to get alimony from me.”

Both Kristen and Nia share how they have bonded by being pregnant at the same time, with Nia helping Kristen throughout her pregnancy since it will be her first child. Kristen and Luke Broderick learned that they were going to have a baby just two weeks after the season wrapped. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Kaia Lilly, on June 11. Nia and Danny welcomed their fourth child, a daughter named Adelaide, just four days later, on June 15.

An Update On Michelle Saniei And Jesse Lally

Part 1 of the reunion heavily focused on Michelle and Jesse’s divorce. Andy asks for an update on Michelle’s relationship with Aaron Nosler, with her admitting that they are talking about an engagement. That brought Andy to the conversation about her separation from Jesse Lally. When Andy asked Michelle “what was the tipping point” that made her want to leave Jesse, she shared, “It was not one specific thing, it was a lot of things. I was so tired of every day being the same thing with you, you’re always diminishing me and putting me down. That’s just the bare minimum.”

When Andy asked for a co-parenting update, something Michelle and Jesse struggled with all season, Jesse said things had improved. But the conversation quickly took a turn when he accused Michelle of using their daughter, Isabella, to “weaponize” situations.

“I know that [Michelle] weaponizes Isabella. I weaponize Isabella,” he shared. When Michelle denied the accusation, Jesse hit back, “Read comments online. You weaponize your daughter.” That’s when Andy even stepped in and shared, “Well, excuse me, it’s not up to the commenters.”

Tensions escalated further when Andy brought up the divorce. Michelle said the process was ongoing, with Jesse allegedly asking for money she spent during their marriage, though he claims she’s doing the same. As Andy put it, the whole situation has turned into a game of “tit for tat.”

After The Valley finale aired, People reported that Michelle and Aaron split after one year of dating.

The host then begins to talk to the other divorced couple in the room: Jax and Brittany. “Would it be hard for you when Brittany starts dating a man and she introduces him to Cruz?” The host asks Jax.

Jax shares, “Yeah,” with Brittany interjecting that he “stars a fight with me every single day” about the men she talks too. When Jax gets asked if he goes to therapy, he shares that he does, but Brittany admits that she hasn’t seen an ounce of change in him.

Brittany Cartwright Reveals What Really Happened During Her Explosive Fight With Jax Taylor

Andy begins to discuss the beginning of the season in which an explosive fight led to Jax checking himself into rehab. The moment was not captured on camera, but Brittany shares that it was worse than what was told in the season.

What we learn is that Jax threw a lot more than a coffee table that day, and it was a very scary moment. What set Jax off was learning that Brittany had hooked up with his friend, Julian.

“My confidence was at an all time low,” Brittany shares on why she slept with Julian. “This man degraded me, put me down, body-shamed me constantly.”

“You made me literally lose my sparkle.”

Jax explains that things went south in their marriage when he lost his bartending job at SUR while starring on Vanderpump Rules. Brittany added that Jax “turned on her” because she began making more money. This was a turning point in their relationship where Jax didn’t feel “like a man.” Still, Brittany had his back and continued to try and support him as best as she could.

When Andy asks Jax about his decision to seek help in a mental health facility, he shares that he went because “his job was on the line.” Jax admits he is now 156 days sober, but still smokes weed. Brittany continues to make him do drug tests regardless, even accusing him of taking steroids because his personality is so “sporadic” and his anger issues have not gone away.

The Part 1 reunion ends with Jax in tears about what has transpired in his life.
