Clinton Brink, 43, and his wife, Cristen Brink, 41, were both killed in Devil’s Den State Park on Saturday while their children, 7 and 9, were with them.

The hunt for their killer is ongoing.

The daughters wound up escaping without injuries and are now safe with relatives.

Their family referred to the couple as “heroes protecting their little girls.”

They deserve justice,” relatives said in a statement released by Arkansas State Police (ASP).

Since the murders, cops have released details on a possible “person of interest,” including a composite sketch and a photo of the man’s back.

They have described the person as a “white male with a medium build” wearing a dark baseball cap, dark pants, a long-sleeved shirt, sunglasses, and a black backpack with fingerless gloves.

However, one of his clothing pieces drew questions from the internet.

“If he was seen wearing sunglasses then why is the sketch done without the sunglasses on,” one person commented in response to a Facebook post about the murders shared by local Fox News affiliate KNWA.

“[H]ow did they draw his eyes if he had sun glasses on,” another commented.

One person replied saying, “Some witnesses saw him with sunglasses on his hat and some saw him with them on.”

The disturbing police sketch showed a man wearing both a dark baseball hat and a black backpack.

Alongside the drawing, authorities also released another photo of the person of interest’s back in the wooded area.

Officials described the trail as having “rugged” terrain with thick vegetation in a “remote and rural area.”

Police search for answers in Arkansas murders

Authorities are looking for help in the double-murder investigation. Here is what they are asking of the public:

  • Those who were at Devil’s Den State Park on Saturday, July 26: Police are asking visitors to review video footage and images they may have taken at the park and if they include the person of interest or vehicle.
  • Residents in the surrounding areas: Officials are also asking for people to check their security or game camera footage to see if the person of interest or his vehicle also make an appearance
  • In general: Police are advising everyone to not post evidence online. They are looking for evidence to be submitted to the agency in its original format.

“ASP thanks the public for their assistance and urges anyone with any information — no matter how minor — to come forward immediately.”

They also said that there is no cellphone service at the location.

Police have asked for the public to submit any tips, alongside video and photos they have if it includes the person in them.

Officials also released information about the person of interest’s car, which they describe as a possible Mazda with tape covering its license plate.

Police noted that the man had been described to them as “wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, with sleeves rolled up, rather than a tank top as originally reported.

“The suspect is an unknown white male with a medium build.

“He was wearing dark pants, a dark baseball cap and sunglasses.

“[He also] had a black backpack and was wearing fingerless gloves.

“He was seen driving toward a park exit in a black, four-door sedan.”
