Tyra Banks is putting her parenting skills to work and getting a little help from AI in the process.

During a July 28 episode of Today with Jenna & Friends, the 51-year-old model and media mogul opened up about how she’s handling her 9-year-old son York Banks Asla’s growing obsession with video games, particularly Roblox and Minecraft.

“I had a ‘no video games in my house’ rule,” Banks admitted to co-host Jenna Bush Hager and guest parenting expert Dr. Aliza Pressman. But that changed when her significant other, who she called York’s stepfather, introduced the games. “And now my son is addicted!” she said.

In a lighthearted moment during the segment, Banks sought advice from Dr. Pressman on managing screen time over the summer, joking about her own “suffering” as a parent navigating the digital age.
Her solution? A formal contract, drafted not with a lawyer, but with the help of ChatGPT, which Banks affectionately named “Gwyneth,” after actress Gwyneth Paltrow.

“I was like, ‘ChatGPT, what do I do?’ She suggested a contract. So, I made a contract,” Banks explained. “You can only do these days, you can only do these hours, you have to earn it with chores, homework, blah, blah, blah.”
But despite the effort and good intentions, enforcing the contract has proven challenging. “He signed it. It’s like it never existed. What do I do?” she asked.

Dr. Pressman advised that structure and consistent boundaries are key. “If you do a contract, make sure you can live up to the contract on your end,” she told Banks. “They can break the rules, but then you keep your boundaries.”

Turning directly to the camera with a grin, Banks sent a message to York: “Do you hear me, my child? No more Roblox and that square thing on the weekdays!”

While the exchange was full of laughs, Banks’ experience highlights a relatable struggle for many parents balancing screen time with responsibilities and creating accountability with kids. And if it takes a contract drafted by ChatGPT to make it happen, well, that’s just modern parenting.
