BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC () – A mother is still pleading for answers in the murder of her son 7 years after his killing.

D’Andra Green is also working for other mothers who are grieving like she is.

Sean Aiken’s body was found in a ditch off Seabrook Center Road on July 18, 2018.

Investigators said he was at a house party when an armed suspect came in.

Aiken ran but didn’t get very far. He was shot in the back and left for dead.

“How cruel and evil are you that you can take someone’s life and then you can go to bed,” an emotional Green said. “You can keep living your life. And after all this time, it hasn’t bothered your conscience. It doesn’t bother anybody’s conscience. I got to keep reminding people that this happens. You know, people will want their lives, my life, just not my life stops. And I have to keep fighting for justice. So, I’m going to keep coming. I’m going to keep having them will keep coming until he gets just this. What a mother does.”

Green said she still remembers that horrific day, holding Sean’s cold hand soon after he had passed away.

She will never forget her so who was the light of her life in many ways.

“I believe and I will always believe my son was trying to do something good,” she said. “He was taken for it. I believe that someone was trying to rob someone he loves or someone for trying to do something to someone he cared about. And when he turned his back, that’s why this happened.”

Even seven years later, Green still holds out hope someone will come forward and help find the person responsible.

“It boils down to that morning. What car was on that street?” Green said. “You know who saw what on that street that morning and what time they saw it. It all boils down to those things. Who was on that street that morning? Because somebody who was there was one of the people that was there had to be the killer.”

Green and investigators agreed that someone knows what happened that day and said it’s not snitching, it will give a family some peace.

“Not telling on people is not helping. You see Beaufort is becoming the wild, wild West. Let’s get out here. Let’s clean these streets back up so our children can be safe. If you don’t care about yourself, that’s fine. But let’s let the children be able to grow up.”

As she waits for information, for help, Green is now speaking on gun violence for Mothers Demand Action and created a charity in Sean’s name, Sean’s Love Project, which helps feed the homeless in Tampa.

“Most family members do not understand. They try and they want to be there for you, but they don’t know what to say to you” Green said. “You know that because they can’t understand the grief. They can’t understand the pain. They can’t understand it. But when you meet other people who are absolutely in it with you, who can hold you and tell you something, you know, and it’s something that you would have never thought of, you know, it’s amazing.”

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office told there are no new leads in the case, but they just need someone to come forward so they can close this case and get justice.

There is now a $1,000 Crimestoppers reward for information that leads investigators to a suspect.

You can call 1-888-CRIME-SC with any information you may have and giving a mother some peace.

“It’s been a long time holding the secrets. There’s nothing that bad. Murders are still happening. If you know anything about what happened to my son, please tell someone. Tell someone. You don’t have to tell the police. Tell somebody else or tell the police. Just tell someone. My son deserves justice. He absolutely does. He absolutely does.”
