A NEWLYWED is mourning the loss of her husband and daughter, who horrifically died in a car crash.

Macey survived the accident with non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the other car, Joseph Maynard, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene, Fox News reported.

Police reported on July 26 that Maynard drove his pickup truck into the other lane, leading to a fiery collision with the Lyons’ Chevrolet Silverado.

The reason Maynard drove his truck into the other lane remains unknown.

The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Macey was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital to be treated for burn injuries.

“Macey, Hunter and Oakleigh were in a horrific car accident yesterday on their way home from their honeymoon in Pigeon Forge,” Leigh Ann Payne-Weisser, Macey’s mother, posted on Facebook.

“Hunter and Oakleigh are now with our Lord and Savior. Please keep Macey and our families lifted in prayer,” she wrote.

The couple was making their way back from Pigeon Forge, Hunter’s mother revealed online.

Macey and Hunter got married on July 19, a year after their daughter Oakleigh was born.

An obituary of Hunter mentioned that he actively participated in the Constantine Missionary Baptist Church and played his guitar at church services.

The 22-year-old is said to have loved the outdoors, hunting, and riding horses.

His daughter, Oakleigh, is described as having a “sassy personality” and a shining smile.

Macey and her family have already received an outpouring of support from community members.

As the grieving mother recovers from her injuries, her friends have set up different ways the public can help her.

Kentucky State Police Statement

On July 26, around 5:10 P.M. CDT, KSP Post 4 received a call from the Breckinridge County Dispatch requesting KSP investigate a two-vehicle collision near the 13000 block of KY 261.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Joseph Maynard, 48, of Owensboro, was operating a Ford F-150 southbound on KY-261 when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line and struck a Chevrolet Silverado head-on, causing it and the Ford to become engulfed in flames.

The operator of the Silverado, Hunter Lyons, 22, and a one-year-old juvenile passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Breckinridge County Coroner’s Office. An adult female passenger in Lyons’ vehicle was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Maynard was also pronounced deceased at the scene by the Breckinridge County Coroner’s Office.

The affected portion of KY 261 was closed for several hours to allow troopers to reconstruct the collision. KSP Post 4 was assisted at the scene by the Breckinridge Co. Sheriff’s Office, Breckinridge Co. EMS, Hardinsburg Fire Dept., Fordsville Fire Dept. and the Breckinridge Co. Coroner’s Office. The collision

One of Macey’s friends set up a Venmo account to accept donations, while several other businesses began raising money for the young mother.

The local church plans to host a fundraiser for Macey on August 2, and the Doe Valley Golf Club has raised $1,500 for the family, the Daily Mail reported.

The Calhoun Baptist Church will also host a fundraiser for the family, with all proceeds to be used to cover Hunter and Oakleigh’s funeral costs, as well as any associated medical bills.

Hundreds of people commented under Payne-Weisser’s post about Hunter and Oakleigh, offering their thoughts and prayers for the family.

“I’m so very sorry! I will be praying hard for Macey and your family,” one woman commented.

“I cannot begin to imagine your sorrow! If there is anything we can do please let us know!”
