CHICAGO — The Chicago Cubs will host the 2027 MLB All-Star Game at Wrigley Field.
The announcement was made by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred on Friday morning.
This will be the first time Wrigley Field hosts an All-Star game since1990. The Ricketts put a significant amount of money into Wrigley renovations starting back in 2014.
The last hurdle for the Cubs to reportedly get over was enhancing security at the ball park, and that box has apparently been checked.
The Cubs sent out a cryptic email Thursday about a “special announcement” at the ball park Friday morning.
Governor JB Pritzker was in attendance for the announcement, along with Cubs management and other local leaders.
This is a developing story. Check back for details.
