Fruit bread, fritters recalled in Georgia, South Carolina

SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Hillside Orchard Farms is recalling several flavors of their fruit breads and fritters due to an undeclared allergen.

During an investigation by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the company was told that the labels on some of their breads and fritters didn’t include egg on the label.

The products were sold primarily in farmer markets and roadside stands in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, the FDA reported.

The recalled breads and fritters were distributed between Nov. 18, 2024 – July 16, 2025.

Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg could be at risk for a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products, the FDA reported.

Officials said they urge consumers who have purchased these products to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund, or they may discard the product. Consumers with questions may contact 706-782-4995, Monday to Friday from 8:30-5 p.m. EST.
