FISHER, Ill. (WCIA) — After winning a regional title for the first time in more than two decades, Fisher/GCMS has hired a new boys’ coach with ties to Central Illinois.
Caleb Aldridge, who grew up in Champaign, brings a player’s perspective to his new role as head coach, playing five seasons at Messiah University in Pennsylvania.
“I’m big for sportsmanship over gamesmanship,” Aldridge said. “When you’re put in certain situations on the field, how can you hold yourself?” “Because one, you’re representing, Fisher/GCMS, so that’s really important.” “You’re also representing your own family yourself and your own values, so what does that look like for me to be a man or a woman of character on the field?”
The Bunnies went 20-4-1 in 2024, finishing with a loss to U-High in the sectional title match.
Aldridge was born in England.
