JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Johnson City was a plant lover’s paradise Saturday with the return of the 3rd annual Tennessee Plant Show.

Seventy-five vendors from seven states and two countries turned the Holiday Inn Convention Center green.

Nearly 4,000 plant lovers spent the day at the free event.

The show started as a simple plant swap and sale, and has grown every year.

Founder Carley Crutchfield said the variety makes it so popular. Annuals, perennials, exotic tropicals, and even orchids make this an event for everyone.

“It’s all about learning and connection and growing because just like plants, because people grow and acclimate to change, and the options are endless when it comes to gardening,” Crutchfield said.

Due to the number of vendors attending the plant show, several of them had to set up in the parking lot.
