Ahead of the regular season start, Bears fans from near and far filled the stadium for the team’s Family Fest.
“They are professional athletes, but we need to know that they are people, too. They need to feel supported and that their work is appreciated,” said Bears fan Paul Lichy.
It was a chance for people to get an up-close look at practice.
“I think being under a new coach will help the Bears and get them farther,” said Bears fan Roman Metzger.
Metzger made the trip to Soldier Field all the way from Kenosha.
He says there is nothing quite like seeing that open gridiron filled with Bears pride.
“I think everyone wants the same thing so I think it’s like trying to support the team, getting them to the Super Bowl or at least the playoffs,” Metzger said.
From special meetings with Staley himself to face painting and even taking some blue and orange filled family pictures, Bears fans lived up to the hype that this day represents for the team.
“Feeling pretty confident. We added some much-needed pieces. It’s just a matter of coming together as a team and performing well and beating the Packers,” said Bears fan Luke Balek.
